1. Who runs this site
ScreenTail is run by Vivek Kumar, a sole proprietor based in India. For the purposes of data protection law, that means Vivek Kumar is the controller of any personal data this site handles — the person who decides what is collected and why.
Grievance contact: questions, complaints and requests about your data all go to contact@screentail.com, which is the named grievance route required under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. There is no separate escalation address; the same person reads all of it.
2. What is collected
The tools themselves collect nothing. Every one of them runs entirely in your browser: the colours, patterns, timers, noise generators and wallpaper generation all happen on your own machine, nothing you type or generate is sent anywhere, and no file you create leaves your computer. There is no account, no login and no email required to use anything here.
What is collected is limited to two things:
- What is needed to serve the page. Like every website, a request has to reach a server, and that request carries your IP address, your browser and device type, and the address of the page you asked for. This happens before any choice can be offered, because without it there is no page to show you a choice on.
- Measurement, none of which identifies you. Two privacy-focused visit counters run without cookies, without storing anything on your device, and without collecting anything that identifies you. They count pages viewed, not people. Both are named in the next section.
None of this is used to build a profile of you, none of it is sold, and none of it is shared with anyone beyond the processors named in the next section.
3. Who processes it
These are the companies that handle data on this site's behalf. Entries marked not currently in use are declared ahead of time so that this page does not have to be rewritten — and, more to the point, so that it cannot quietly fall behind — on the day they arrive.

4. Cookies
This site sets no cookies at all. Nothing is stored on your device and nothing is read back from it. Neither visit counter uses cookies, and the tools themselves run entirely in your browser without saving anything. That is also why you are never asked for cookie consent here: consent is required for storing or reading information on your device, and this site does neither. If that ever changes, the cookies will be listed in this section and you will be asked first.
5. Why there is no cookie banner
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device for analytics. Consent is required for storing or reading information on a visitor's device, and nothing here does either — so there is nothing to ask you about. The absence of a banner is a consequence of collecting less, not a way around asking.
What is measured instead is the address of the page you are on, the site you arrived from, your approximate country, and your browser and device type. All of it is aggregated. None of it involves an identifier that persists on your device, and none of it follows you between sites.
If that changes — advertising is the realistic reason it would — this page changes with it, and you will be asked before anything new runs.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over personal data relating to you. Under the EU and UK GDPR and under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act these overlap substantially, and this site does not distinguish between them in practice — whichever applies to you, the following are honoured:
- Access — to be told what data relating to you is held, and to get a copy.
- Correction — to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
- Erasure — to have data deleted, where there is no overriding reason to keep it.
- Objection and withdrawal — to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time, as described above.
- Portability — to receive data in a machine-readable form.
- Nomination — under the DPDP Act, to nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated.
- Complaint — to complain to your data protection authority, or in India to the Data Protection Board, if you are not satisfied with the response.
The route for all of these is contact@screentail.com. No particular form of words is needed. Bear in mind what is realistically possible: this site holds no account and nothing that identifies you by name, so locating data relating specifically to you generally means narrowing it down by approximate date and device rather than by looking you up.
7. How long it is kept
Each company named in section 3 keeps what it holds under its own stated terms, which are listed on its card there.
What this site itself holds is nothing. There is no account, no name, no email address and no database of visitors. Nothing is stored on your device, and no identifier persists from one visit to the next.
8. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and no data is knowingly collected from them. There is nothing here that asks for a name, an age or an email address. If you believe a child's data has been collected anyway, write to the address above and it will be deleted.
9. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. That date is generated from the same source the cards are, so it cannot be updated without the change actually being made. This version is dated 2026-08-23.
There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list at all. If a change materially affects what is collected or who processes it, this page changes with it — and anything that requires your consent will ask for it before it runs.
