Cookie Policy
Every cookie and every stored setting, what it is for, and how to remove it.
ScreenTail sets no cookies of its own. If you choose Accept All in the privacy notice, Google Analytics sets two. With Essential Only, or no answer, there are none. Your browser also keeps two small settings for the site: your theme and your answer to the notice.
01Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. These two are set by Google Analytics, only after Accept All:
_ga: tells one visitor from another, using a random number, not your name._ga_3NZTKZXN45: keeps track of the current visit.
Google sets both to last two years; browsers can shorten that, and Chrome, for example, keeps them for at most 400 days. What Google Analytics does with them is set out in the Privacy Policy.
02Settings kept in your browser
These are not cookies: they stay in your browser's local storage and are never sent anywhere.
screentail-theme: your light or dark theme, stored only when you press the theme button.screentail-privacy-choice: your answer to the privacy notice and the version of the notice you answered, so it is not shown again.
Settings inside a tool, such as a gray level or a pattern size, last only while the page is open and are not stored.
03Your choices
"Privacy choices", at the foot of every page, reopens the notice at any time. Choosing Essential Only stops Google Analytics at once and deletes its two cookies.
You can also remove everything this page lists by clearing your browser's cookies and site data for screentail.com. The notice will then ask again on your next visit.
