1. Who runs this site
ScreenTail is operated by Vivek Kumar, a sole proprietor based in India. Contact:contact@screentail.com.
2. Free use, and no warranty
Every tool on this site is free to use, with no account and no payment. In return, the site is provided as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied.
In particular, there is no guarantee that the site will be available, that it will work on your device or browser, that it is free of errors, or that any result it shows you is accurate. It is run by one person and may go offline, change or disappear without notice.
3. What the diagnostic tools can and cannot tell you
This section matters more than the rest, because acting on a diagnostic result is the only thing on this site that can cost you money.
The results of these tests must not be relied on for a warranty claim, a purchase decision, or a decision to return or keep a device.
A test that runs in a web browser cannot be authoritative about your panel. Several things sit between this page and your pixels, and any of them can create a fault that is not there or hide one that is:
- Display scaling and non-native resolutions mean the browser's idea of a pixel and your panel's are not the same thing.
- Colour management — the profile applied by your operating system, browser and monitor — changes what a "pure red" field actually emits.
- Panel processing, including dynamic contrast, local dimming, overdrive and HDR handling, alters the image after the browser has drawn it.
- Ambient light, viewing angle, screen dirt and the camera you photograph the screen with all affect what you see and what you can show someone else.
- Browser compositing and the refresh rate of your display affect anything that moves or flashes.
These tools are a fast way to look for a problem, which is a genuinely useful thing — a dead pixel or obvious backlight bleed will usually show up here first. They are not a measurement. Manufacturers apply their own thresholds for how many defective pixels constitute a fault, and those thresholds are assessed on their equipment, not yours.
Before acting on anything you see here, confirm it with the manufacturer, the retailer, or a qualified technician. Neither Vivek Kumar nor this site accepts liability for a decision made on the basis of a result shown by these tools.
4. Photosensitivity warning
The stuck pixel fixer flashes colours rapidly. Rapidly flashing images can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy, including in people who have never had a seizure before.
That tool shows a warning which you must accept before anything starts. The warning is there to be read, not clicked past, and it appears every time — your acceptance is deliberately not remembered, so that nobody arrives at a shared machine already consented. Use of that tool is at your own risk.
If you have photosensitive epilepsy, or are unsure, do not use it. If you experience dizziness, altered vision, disorientation, involuntary movement or any convulsion while using it, stop immediately and consult a doctor.
This clause does not replace the warning on the tool itself, and it is not intended to. The gate on that page is the actual safeguard: it is part of the page rather than something added afterwards, and the animation cannot start unless it has been dismissed. A term buried in a document nobody opened would protect no one.
5. Audio tools
The noise generators and timer chimes produce sound in your browser. Output is limited well below full scale and fades in rather than starting abruptly, but the site has no way of knowing the volume actually reaching your ears — that depends on your system volume, your hardware and your headphones, none of which a web page can see.
Set your volume low before starting and raise it if you need to. No claim is made that any sound here is safe at any particular level or duration, and no health, medical or therapeutic claim is made for any of it.
6. Prank and simulator tools
The prank screens imitate operating system screens — updates, crash screens, a cracked display. They are visual imitations running in a web browser. They are not real, they change nothing on the machine, they touch no files, and pressing Escape exits any of them at any time.
They are provided for entertainment and for use as video props. Using them to deceive somebody into an action that harms them — paying money, handing over credentials, buying a repair they do not need — or to impersonate a company for gain, is not permitted and is not what they are for.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or anything connected to it;
- deliberately overload it, or interfere with its availability for others;
- use it for anything unlawful, or in a way that damages or misrepresents it;
- scrape it at a rate that amounts to an attack rather than a visit.
8. Intellectual property
The design, text, code and original graphics on this site belong to Vivek Kumar. You are welcome to use the tools, link to any page, and share what you generate with them — an image you produce with the wallpaper generator is yours, not this site's.
Trademarks and product names referred to anywhere on this site belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe what a tool is for. No affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from any of them is claimed or implied.
9. Links to other sites, and affiliate disclosure
Some pages may link to other websites. Those sites are not under this site's control, and it is not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices.
Some outbound links may in future be affiliate links, meaning a commission may be earned if you buy something after following one. This costs you nothing — the price is the same either way.
A commission never changes what a tool reports. No result, recommendation or ordering anywhere on this site is influenced by whether a link earns anything. Where affiliate links exist, the page carrying them says so.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vivek Kumar is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything it shows you — including, without limitation, damage to hardware, lost data, lost profits, the cost of repairs or replacements, or a warranty claim that is refused.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow it to be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities, and in those places only the exclusions permitted there apply.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may change. When they do, the date at the top of this page changes with them; this version is dated 2026-08-23. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms. There is no notification list, because there is no list of users to notify.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Delhi, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of this site.
